Evolve strategies, sops to deal with terrorism: IB
New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) Expressing concern over the terrorists increasing their catchment area of recruitment, Intelligence Bureau Director P C Haldar today stressed the need for evolving SOPs and strategies to deal with the challenge which cuts across boundaries and jurisdiction.
Addressing the DGPs conference organised by Intelligence Bureau, Mr Haldar said that terrorism posed the most potent and persistent threat that required immediate response.
He said in view of the grave challenge that terrorism posed, the two-day conference would focus on it only.
He also stressed the need for developing a new work culture based on the present intelligence requirement of the country.
Pointing out that security was being impacted by various challenges, he said that the internal security apparatus has co-opted adequately.
However, the focus should be on terrorism and evolving counter measures to deal with the challenges posed by it, he added.
