Cold weather continues in Delhi, mercury stays two deg below normal

New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) The winter season seems to have truly arrived in Delhi with the mercury today staying two degrees below normal at 24.8 degree celsius.

Though the maximum temperature in the Capital city rose slightly, from 24.3 degrees Celsius yesterday, to 24.8 degrees C, it still remained two degrees below normal.

Earlier, in the morning, the minimum temperature also dropped, from 13.6 degrees Celsius, to 11 degrees Celsius.

Weathermen said the cold conditions, brought about by a strong thunderstorm on Thursday which brought about a sharp drop in mercury, was likely to continue in the coming days.

They have forecast a maximum and minimum temperature of 25 degrees C and 10 degrees C respectively tomorrow.

The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours.
