Agriculture Research Centres to be net linked : IARC
Jaunpur, Nov 22 (UNI) All Agriculture Science Centres of the country will soon be linked through internet, Indian Council of Agriculture Research (IARC) Deputy Director General Dr P Das said.
Stressing the need of modern technology in the agriculture field, he said the internet linking of ASCs would help farmers getting latest on agriculture reserch and modern trends across the globe.
He was here to inagurate an ARC building at Buxa.
DR Das said the agriculture production in the country had grown five tiomes since independence and reached at 24 crore tonnes annually. ''There is a vast scope for the betterment in agriculture production by infusing modern research techniques,'' he said.
Pointing out that Jaunpur area was a leader in vegetable production, the DDG of IARC said that the farmers here were required to be updated about the modern cultivation techniques to increase the production.
