Vasundhara Raje, a CM with no house or car of own

Jaipur, Nov 21: Rajathan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje does not own a house or a car while her predecessor and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot does have a flat but no car of his own.

Ms Raje and Mr Gehlot also stand out for the meagre increase in their assets during the past five years, as per the affidavits given by them while filing their nominations from Jhalarapatan and Sardarpura assembly constituencies respectively.

Ms Raje's assets have increased by only 8.5 per cent during the past five years even as ten of her ministers had recorded an increase in their assets between 177 per cent to 741 per cent. In 2003, she had assets worth Rs 2.96 crore which now stand at Rs 3.21 crore.

Similarly, Mr Gehlot's assets have increased by a mere 1.83 per cent during this period. He had assets worth Rs 1.09 crore in 2003 which are now estimated at Rs 1.11 crore.

Ms Raje does not have any agricultural land as well.

As far as the ancestral property is concerned, she says, it is under legal dispute.

She has gold and jewellery worth Rs 38.55 lakh, over Rs two crore in bonds/debentures/share, Rs 78,720 in bank balance and Rs 50.50 lakh in other assets.

Mr Gehlot has a flat in Gurgaon (worth Rs 11 lakh), a plot in Jaipur (Rs 15 lakh), agricultural land worth Rs 46.5 lakh and non-agricultural land costing Rs 8 lakh. He has Rs 11.22 lakh in PPF and Rs 2.23 lakh as bank balance His wife Sunita Gehlot has 20.75 tola gold, 19 tola silver, Rs 10.16 lakh as PPF and Rs 2.70 lakh as bank balance.
