Two-day RBI staff stir from December one
Hyderabad, Nov 21 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) officers and employees will go on casual leave en masse on December one and two to protest against withdrawal of pension updation scheme last month.
Members of the United Forum of Reserve Bank Officers and Employees today staged a lunch hour demonstration in front of the RBI premises here, demanding continuation of the pension updation scheme being extended to lakhs of pensioners of the Union and State governments.
Addressing the workers, Reserve Bank of India Officers Association Secretary N Sridhar, All India Reserve Bank of India Association Secretary A Pulla Reddy, Reserve Bank of India(RBI) Organising Secretary G Kranti and Reserve Bank Workers Union Chief Secretary G Jagadish were highly critical of the alleged ''unwarranted intervention'' of the Centre in the matter and consequent ''unilateral'' action of the RBI management in withdrawing the scheme, causing a cut ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 in monthly pension.
