Two army personnel killed, several injured in accident
Dehra Dun, Nov 21(UNI) At least two Army personnel were killed and four seriously injured after their truck fell into a deep trench near Rathighat, 12 km from Almora, in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand last evening.
According to Commanding Officer Nainital Sarita Dobhal, the accident occured at around 0600 hrs last evening when a Sikh Regiment truck with 17 army jawans including the driver, fell into a deep trench near Rathighat on the Bhawali-Almora road. The truck was on its way to Bareilly from Pithoragarh.
The driver and a jawan were killed in the accident while four seriously injured jawans were admitted to the Sushila Tiwari Hospital in Haldwani, Ms Dobhal told UNI.
Meanwhile, the others were safely rescued and had sustained minor injuries, she added.
