The left parties 48-hours agitation ends today
Tirupati, Nov 21 (UNI) Amid tight security, the 48-hour dharna of the Left parties came to an end without any arrest by the police in Chittoor district today while Functioning of the district collectorte and other offices were badly affected by the agitation.
A large number of women, mostly belonging to the poorer sections and working class led by CPI(M) district secretary K Murali and his CPI counterpart Harinadh Reddy laid siege to the RDO office and locked the office before commencing working hours in Tirupati as part of the state-wide agitation demanding immediate allotment of houses to the poor and pensions for the aged.
