SP leader Ram Sharan Das no more, Mulayam grieves
Lucknow, Nov 21 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Party president Ram Sharan Das passed away following a prolonged illness in Saharanpur district early this morning.
He was 82.
His last rites were performed at his native Allauddinpur village in Saharanpur district in the presence of senior party leaders.
SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, meanwhile, expressed sorrow on his death.
Speaking at a poignant ceremony at the party office, Mr Yadav said the party has suffered an irreparable loss after Das.
The SP sources said they would grieve for the next three days and have cancelled all the programmes scheduled on the birth anniversary of Mr Yadav tomorrow.
