'Sadhvi's allegations are being probed: NSA tells Advani
New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) Buckling under pressures of the Opposition on the Malegaon blast, the Government today told the Leader of Opposition L K Advani that the allegations made against the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) inquiring into Malegaon blast case is being inquired.
An assurance to this effect was made by National Security Advisor M K Narayanan, who called on Mr Advani this evening and said that the 'contents of the affidavit (filed by Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur before the trial court in Nashik, were being probed.
The revelation of the talks came from Mr Advani himself while participating at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit little late after the meeting.
He said he had avoided commenting on the case for about one month but when he saw the affidavit filed by Sadhvi, he broke his silence three-days ago.
When Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called him yesterday, he pleaded Dr Singh to read the Sadhvi's affidavit.
Following this conversation, Dr Singh had sent Mr Narayanan accompanied by Intelligence Bureau Chief to his residence this evening.
Mr Advani said it was wrong to use phrases like 'Hindu terror' while not even once, he or the BJP had linked terror with any follower of religion be it Muslims or Sikhs. ''If the terror is perpetrated, the accused person should be punished irrespective of the religion he belonged,'' he said.
