Online commercial tax returns filing from Jan

Coimbatore, Nov 21: The Commercial Taxes Department will introduce online filing of returns from January 2009, Joint Commissioner (Commercial Taxes), Ashish Kumar, told reporters here on Thursday, Nov 20. Starting with Coimbatore, the practice would be followed in other districts too, he said.
The Department had conducted meetings with The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association, Chamber of Commerce and the Southern India Mills' Association to organise training programmes and workshops for dealers.

Help desks and facilitation centres would also be set up for the benefit of small traders to learn how to file returns online.
