Office of daily newspaper raided in Kashmir
Srinagar, Nov 21 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police today raided the office of an English daily ''Kashmir Newsline'' here and seized its copies and some CDs.
Editor of the newspaper Shabir Hussain in a statement here this afternoon said a police team from police station Kothibagh raided the office at Exchange road at 1130 hrs today.
He said police personnel seized all the copies of English and Urdu Kashmir Newsline.
Mr Hussain further said police, without giving any reason, also took away CDs of the newspaper.
Expressing shock over the police raid, he said it was an attempt to terrorise the press in Kashmir for writing the truth.
''We are not the first newspaper office to be raided by police in the valley,'' he added.
He said recently the copies of an English and an Urdu daily were seized by the police.
