No Maoist groups involved in Lalgarh movement : SUCI
Kolkata, Nov 21 (UNI) The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) today ruled out the involvement of Maoist groups in the ongoing violence at Lalgarh of West Midnapore district.
'' None of any political parties or Maoist groups is involved in the ongoing violence at Lalgarh, but the agitation is actually an outburst of the pent up feeling of the adivasis, '' SUCI state secretary Provash Ghosh told newspersons here.
'' It is the tribals' spontaneous movement because the CPI(M)-led Left Front government has tortured the adivasis for the past ten years by labelling them as Maoists, '' he stated.
He said, '' The SUCI is wholeheartedly supporting the Lalgarh movement. The tribals are blocking roads to safeguard themselves from police excess. '' '' We have undertaken a slew of agitational programmes, including the blockade of all National Highways on November 24 and a law violation programme in the city on December 17 for several demands, '' he said.
