More than 100 pc polling recorded at one booth, 4 suspended

Raipur, Nov 21 (UNI) Repolling has been recommended at Manikchauri polling centre -- under Abhanpur assembly constituency in Raipur -- where more than 100 per cent polling has been recorded.

During review of polling, it was found that 510 votes had been polled although there were 478 electorates.

The District Returning Officer suspended four election officials, including the presiding officer, with immediate effect and ordered inquiry into the matter.

The DRO informed about the matter to the state electoral officer and recommended repolling. Meanwhile, the state electoral officer has received four more cases in which repolling has been recommended.
