Matka king's brother held for conspiring for security
Mumbai, Nov 21 (UNI) The crime branch sleuths today arrested Vinod Bhagat, younger brother of slain Matka king Suresh Bhagat, for allegedly conspiring to show that his life was under threat by staging a firing on his vehicle, to get police escort.
Joint Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria told mediapersons here that Deepak Suman Patel (28), Amar Jha (24) and Ajay Singh (32), who were arrested yesterday for firing at Vinod's car on October 25, this year near Gamdevi, had revealed that he had given them supari (contract) of Rs one lakh to do so, in order to make a case for police security.
Vinod's application for security from the city police was still pending and hence he had faked the firing to make his case for security stronger, Mr Maria added.
