HC permits admissions in NCTE institutions till Dec 5
Chandigarh, Nov 21 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court today permitted the educational institutions affiliated to universities and recognised by National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE) to make admissions till December 5 strictly on the merit of qualifying graduation examination against the vacant seats.
The order was passed by a Division Bench of Chief Justice Tirath Singh Thakur and Justice Jasbir Singh.
Thousands of such seats remained vacant even after admitting all those who had qualified in the Common Entrance Test(CET) in July this year. Haryana alone reported 33,000 such vacant seats.
The Bench has observed colleges/institutions admitting students after this last date would attract disaffilition from the university and de-recognition by NCET.
