HC defers Raj Thackeray case till November 28
Ranchi, Nov 21 (UNI) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray failed to get any relief as Jharkhand High Court today deferred the hearing of a case pertaining to instigating riot and hurting sentiments of particular community against him.
A single bench of Justice B K Sinha fixed November 28 as the next date of hearing.
Hamid Raza, a Jamshedpur-based lawyer, filed a petition accusing the MNS chief of instigating communal passion and hurting sentiments of a particular community.
Defence lawyer Y V Giri contended that Raj was already punsihed by the court in this regard and hence could not be sentenced twice for the same wrong.
He also argued that the place of occurrence was Maharashtra and how could Jamshedpur court make trial and requested the court to allow dispensation from personal appearance.
