Former state govt employee arrested for cheating

Barrackpore, Nov 21 (UNI) A former state employee was arrested after being rescued from the clutches of an irate mob at New Colony, adjacent to the Sodepur Railway station on Sealdah-Ranaghat Section of Eastern Railway this morning.

Government Railway Police officials said local residents had tied up the accused to a tree and beat him up severely.

The locals alleged that the accused, reportedly a former employee of the state School Education department, had cheated many persons and swindled large amount of money.

Later, police arrested the miscreant and registered a case, the officials said.
