Chhatarpur, MP, Nov 21 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today labelled the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress as parties of the capitalists.
''Since independence, the parties ruled at the Centre and states but the socio-economic condition of the 'bahujan samaj' did not witness marked improvement. On the other hand, the BSP is ensuring universal welfare with its motto of 'sarvajan hitay, sarvajan sukhay' (taking care of the interests and happiness of everyone),'' she said while addressing a poll meeting here.
The BJP and Congress both rode to power with capitalists' help and then drafted economic policies for benefitting them, Ms Mayawati alleged while adding that her party was not opposed to upper castes.
''If that was the case then why would the BSP endeavour to satisfy every social segment including upper castes?'' she said. Among those present was BSP General Secretary Satish Mishra.
