AP: Security beefed up for Assembly elections

Visakhapatnam, Nov 21: City Police Commissioner N Sambasiva Rao on Friday, Nov 21 said foolproof security measures were being made in the run up to the next assembly elections with political parties already campaigning through road shows. He said this has become imperative in view of the bad exprerience during a by election in Vizag-one assembly segment in 2006.

There are six assembly segments in the city formed as a result of delimitation exercise. They include Visakhapatnam East, West, North, South, Gazuwaka and Pendurty. A part of Bheemunipatnam assembly constituency also comes under the purview of the city police commissionerate, he said.
