Chennai: Corporation school children to receive counselling

Chennai, Nov 21: Chennai Corporation, in association with the Psychology Department of the University of Madras, launched a programme at the Corporation Higher Secondary School in Little Mount here on Thursday, Nov 20. Nearly 10,000 students of Class IX and X studying in Corporation schools in the city will undergo psychological counselling nto handle peer pressure, angst and stress.
Research scholars of the Department trained by S. Karunanidhi, professor and head of the department, would, in turn, train teachers and students of various schools. Speaking on the content of the training programme, Prof. Karunanidhi said irrespective of their background, students in their adolescence often faced peer pressure, anger and depression. The programme was structured to address all these issues and also enhance students' personality.
