JK: BSP candidate escaped bid on life

Baramulla, Nov 21: Militants made an abortive bid on the life of BSP candidate from Sopore Assembly constituency Ashfaq Hussain when they hurled a hand grenade on Thursday, Nov 20 night, official sources said on Friday, Nov 21.

They said militants hurled a hand grenade towards the house of Ashfaq. However, it missed the intended target and exploded at a distance without causing any damage.

The BSP candidate and his family escaped unhurt in the attack.

This was the first such attack on any candidate contesting the Assembly elections in the valley.
