BJP lending communal colour to terrorism: Moily
Bhopal, Nov 21 (UNI) Alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was lending communal colour to terrorism, All India Congress Media Cell Chairperson Veerappa Moily today cautioned the BJP to refrain from such act.
''The act of the BJP is threatening national integrity with its top leaders playing politics over terrorism,'' Mr Moily said, adding that the nation should get together to thwart nefarious designs of terrorists.
Briefing reporters here, Mr Moily charged the BJP with raising the terrorism issue before every election. He claimed that evil designs of terrorism would be defeated.
''It is unfortunate that BJP prime ministerial candidate L K Advani describes Malegaon blast-accused Pragya Singh Thakur as innocent and talks about civil war in case of her conviction. He is also questioning the intention of the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad and its chief Hemant Karkare, which is unfair,'' the former Karnataka chief minister said, adding that the Congress never meddled into affairs of any investigation agency.
Asked about the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, Mr Moily declined to comment, saying the matter was sub-judice.
He claimed that the Congress was poised for a thumping victory in Madhya Pradesh assembly polls and the party would also emerge victorious during the next general elections.
Meanwhile, pointing out that the government had failed to lure any IT industry despite organising several global investment summits, state Congress spokesperson Arvind Malviya alleged that the attitude of the BJP was not employment-oriented.
