Adlabs' Big Cinema expands across country
Mumbai, Nov 21 (UNI) In the times of global financial crisis, while many suffer losses some also make huge profits and one among them is Anil Ambani's Adlabs films, expanding its Big Cinema chain across the country.
As a part of its expansion plan, Adlabs had opened last week, a four-five screen multiplexes with the capacity of 2,325 seats at the cost of Rs five crore at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and is working on a Rs six crore 1,100 seat multiplex in Khatmandu, Nepal, next April along with 10-15 screen multiplexes.
Big Cinema Chief Operating Officer Tushar Dhingra said, ''While there was a slight dip in advertisement revenues, which accounts for 10 per cent of revenues, the time is right to strike attractive property lease deals for expansion.'' Last quarter, the company earned Rs 89 crore in revenue with ticket sales accounting for 60 per cent, food and beverages 30 per cent and 10 per cent from advertisements.
