Tripura: Two NLFT militants surrender
Agartala, Nov 20: Two militants of the outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) Bishwamohan faction surrendered before special branch officials of the state police at Manu in North Tripura and deposited 10 rounds of SLR ammunition.
Police on Thursday, Nov 20 said the militants, who surrendered on Wednesday, Nov 19, were identified as Kusumlal Tripura (35) of Manu and Kansiljoy Reang (23) of Kanchanpur.
They were involved in various crimes and insurgency activities, including killing, kidnapping and extortion in the area, police added.
In a separate incident, Assam Rifles jawans recovered an AK-56 rifle from an abandoned Jhum house (constructed for shifting cultivation) in forest area during search operations last night, but nobody was arrested in this connection.
