Rhino kills forest guard in Kaziranga
Guwahati, Nov 20 (UNI) A forest guard was killed in a rhino attack in Assam's famed Kaziranga National Park last night.
Guard Ranjit Medhi was posted at the Burapahar range of the KNP when a rhino attacked him at about 1930 hrs.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The KNP, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famed for its one-horned rhinos, which regularly fall prey to poachers for medicinal value the horn is superstitiously believed to possess.
