Police asks Gurgaon bankers to install CCTV within 3 days
Gurgaon, Nov 20 (UNI) Haryana police today directed all the local bankers to install close circuit TV cameras (CCTV) within three days or face stern action.
The Joint Police Commissioner Manjit Singh Ahlawat, in a meeting with bankers, expressed his displeasure over the fact that even after two months of passing security guidelines by District Magistrate, very few banks have installed the CCTVs and warned that action would be taken against defaulting banks as per rules.
Mr Ahlawat said that after three days, police personnel would check premises of all the banks to ensure that the security guidelines have been properly implemented.
He advised the bankers to install CCTV cameras at crucial points, including entrace and cashier's cabin in the bank.
The cameras must be installed in the ATMs as well so that the movement of criminals elements can be tracked.
He said that cash in ATMs should be put in at different timings no set pattern should be followed to avoid any pre-plenned mishap.
He asked them to request for a police guard while transferring heavy cash and also to report about any suspicious person wandering near the bank premises.
He also assured that if any police personnel showed laxity in performing his duty, a complaint should be filed against him and adequate action would be initiated against that erring official.
