Over 37 lakh metric tonne paddy arrived in Haryana mandis
Chandigarh, Nov 20 (UNI) As many as 37.04 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of Haryana during the current Kharif season so far.
A spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said out of the total paddy arrival, about 17.89 lakh metric tonnes had been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price.
The remaining about 19.15 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been purchased by the private millers and traders, which included 3.26 lakh metric tonnes leviable and 15.88 lakh metric tonnes non leviable paddy.
While enumerating the details of procurement of the paddy in the mandis, he said Hafed had procured 7.56 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, Food and Supplies Department had procured 5.32 lakh metric tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 1.82 lakh tonnes, HWC 67,687 tonnes, FCI 9,435 tonnes and Confed had purchased 2.39 lakh tonnes of paddy.
He said Kurukshetra district was leading with the arrival of 7.09 lakh metric tonnes followed by Karnal 6.31 lakh metric tonnes, Fatehabad 4.36 lakh metric tonnes and Kaithal 4.12 lakh metric tonnes.
