MP lagging behind in development: Kamal Nath
Chhindwara, MP, Nov 20 (UNI) Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath today said Madhya Pradesh is lagging behind in development when the country is in the race for becoming a global economic power.
In a statement released here, Mr Kamal Nath said he, in his capacity as Industry Minister, had urged industrialists from the country and abroad to set up industries in the state but they do not show interest due to lack of infrastructure facilities.
Taking a dig at the ruling BJP, he said the party, which ruled Madhya Pradesh for five years on the slogan of development, not just failed to develop it but took it behind.
The Chhindwara MP promised that the Congress will bring about large-scale development on coming to power.
Referring to the efforts to link Pithampur-Dhar-Mhow area to the New Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor, Mr Kamal Nath said the country will come in the league of developed states on the completion of this project.
He said efforts would be made to set up agriculture-based industries besides removing problems of poor and other sections.
Commenting upon alleged corruption during the BJP rule, he said state minister Akhand Pratap Singh himself said food scam to the tune of crore of rupees has taken place.
