MCOCA against Malegaon accused discrimination against Hindus: Togadi

New Delhi, Nov 20 (UNI) Reacting strongly to the slapping of Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act(MCOCA) against Malegaon accused Sadhvi Pragya and others, VHP (Inlt) general secretary Praveen Togadia today said the move smacked of discrimination against Hindus.

''Mumbai serial blasts accused and underworld don Abu Salem was charged under MCOCA but later withdrawn as he was a Muslim. These people have been convicted as they were Hindus,'' Mr Togadia told UNI.

He stressed that just to prove its point and appease the minorities the Maharashtra and Central government had deliberately trapped 'sadhvi' Pragya and Lt Col Purohit and charged them under MCOCA, he said.

''This was clear discrimination against Hindus for political ends and a travesty of justice,'' he maintained.

The VHP leader was reacting to the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) slapping the dreaded MCOCA against the alleged Malegaon(Maharashtra) blast accused this evening.
