Inter-District dacoit arrested, cash, gold recovered

Vijayawada, Nov 20 (UNI) The City Crime Station (CCS) today arrested an inter-district dacoit on the charges of house breaking and recovered gold ornaments, cash and two cars worth Rs 16 lakh.

Addressing a press conference here, City Police Commissioner K V Rajendranath Reddy said the accused Adapa Venkana alias Kranti Kiran, from Mangalagiri in Guntur district was involved in house burglaries in Vijayawada, Guntur, Mangalagiri, Eluru, Gudivada, Visakhapatnam, Cuddapah, Prodduturu, Chilakaluripeta and Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh.

Several warrants were pending against him in different police stations across the state, Mr Reddy said.

In another case, the CCS team also arrested one V Satish Kumar at Governorpet area here and recovered gold ornaments valued at Rs three lakh, three two wheelers and three mobile phones, he added.
