IISD signs agreement with AOC international

Kolkata, Nov 19 (UNI) Institute for Inspiration and Self Development (IISD) signed an agreement with the UK-based AOC International here today for various educational and training initiatives in West Bengal.

"The agreement takes both sides into a strategic relationship for running various courses and academic programmes on revenue sharing basis," AOC International Chairman and Managing Director Khurshid Alam told reporters.

AOC is a leading educational institution based in the UK, while IISD is promoted jointly by SREI, the private sector infrastructure financing company and Prajna Vidya Bharati Limited.

Mr Alam said AOC, under the umbrella of the International Centre for Advance Studies and Training (ICAST), had developed some of the courses and training programmes which would begin early next year.

IISD Chairman H P Kanoria said there would be a number of courses on healthcare, management, diploma and education certificate level IT courses of British Computing Society (BCS), hospitality management tourism and retail.

Under the agreement, a number of faculties from the UK would visit India with specific training modules for the Indian students.

Mr Kanoria said IISD was also planning to set up a business school in the country in collaboration with AOC Internationa.
