Government not to do anything on spectrum controversy: BJP
New Delhi, Nov 20 (UNI) Notwithstanding the views of Central Vigilance Commission favouring a probe into the controversial allocation of 2G spectrum, the BJP today said the government seemed to be in no mood to do anything because of 'political compulsions'.
Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu while answering questions on the views of Vigillance Commission said the BJP had demanded a probe into the 'scandal' and even some UPA allies like Samajwadi Party too had raised such a demand. However, the Government is not in a position to do anything regarding the controversial allocations by the Communications Ministry because of fear of losing support from the DMK, which the Government needs badly, he said.
Whwn asked about the claim of Communications Minister A Raja that he was only implementing the wishes of the Prime Minister's Office, Mr Naidu remarked "the PMO has not issued any denial so far. He (Mr Raja) may be right", Mr Naidu said.
