CPI(ML) urges Centre's intervention
Puducherry, Nov 20 (UNI) Condemning the arrest of Karaikal fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy, the Puducherry unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) today urged the intervention of the Centre to ensure the release of the fishermen.
In a statement here today, CPI(ML) Secretary S Balasubramanian urged the Centre to intervene and ensure a cease-fire in Sri Lanka and find a political solution to the ethnic problems in the island nation.
He also urged the Puducherry administration to provide adequate compensation to the farmers who had lost their crops in the recent rains.
