Chennai: Awareness created among children about abuse
Chennai, Nov 20: Large number of organisations in Chennai observed International Day Against Child Sexual Abuse on Wednesday, Nov 19 and focussed on creating awareness among children about staying safe out of the clutches of sexual predators. It was Corporation Commissioner Rajesh Lakhoni who started the campaign on Wednesday, Nov 19 morning as he distributed safety flyers to school children at the Koyambedu Primary Corporation School.
At the function organised by Tulir - Centre for the Prevention and Healing of Child Sexual Abuse, Lakhoni handed over the flyers and had an interaction with the children about the key aspects in the flyers. They contained information on personal safety in Tamil. Information on the body and counselling about dileanating right touches from wrong touches and to approach people close to them when they think they have been touched wrongly.
