Centre policies are anti-public: Sharad Yadav
Bhopal, Nov 20 (UNI) Slamming the economic polices of the Centre, Janata Dal (United) President Sharad Yadav today said ill-effects of these policies would be visible in near future.
Mr Yadav, who was here to campaign for the party candidate, told reporters that the policies related to Special Economic Zones (SEZs) were not in the interest of common people along with farmers.
Lashing out at the Centre for not keeping interest of common people in mind, he said opening up of retail sector to multinational companies would affect about 25 crore people in the country. These will include mostly small traders.
Describing unemployment as a big problem, Mr Yadav stressed on the need for reform in the education system.
He pointed out that students passing out from Hindi and regional language medium schools did not get employment easily, while students coming out from English medium did.
Commenting upon the policies of the BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh, the JD(U) leader said the BJP came into power on the poll planks of road, electricity and water in 2003.
Though the party succeeded in improving the condition of roads, it could not do much in other two sectors.
He alleged that the Congress had provided tickets to such candidates who intended to earn money instead of serving people through politics.
Mr Yadav said poll manifesto of both the BJP and the Congress made impractical promises. He described promises such as providing free power inappropriate and said efforts must be made to make people prosperous.
