ATS applies MCOCA on Malegaon bomb blast accused
Mumbai, Nov 20 (UNI) The Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) today applied the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) on the 11 accused including Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, Lt Col Prasad Purohit and ex-Armyman Ramesh Upadhyay, in the September 29 Malegaon bomb blast case.
In the blast, six people were killed while several others were injured.
Special Public Prosecutor Rohini Salian confirmed that the ATS today moved an application before MCOCA court, praying for application of the stringent Act on the accused.
She said they moved an application after getting prior permission from the Additional Commissioner of Police (ATS).
