3 militants killed in Kashmir
Srinagar, Nov 20 (UNI) Three militants, including two from Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist outfit, were killed in Kashmir today.
A report from Baramulla said security forces killed one militant in an encounter at Niloosa Bijhama in Uri this afternoon.
Other two militants, belonging to JeM, were killed in a joint operation in the frontier district of Kupwara.
Official sources said police and Army launched a joint operation at village Daril-Vilgam, Handwara, in north Kashmir early this morning following a tip-off about the presence of militants there.
When the security forces were about to storm a particular kothar, militants hiding inside opened fire. The fire was returned and in the fierce clash the two JeM militants were killed.
The slain militants were identified as Shamsher alias Showkat Bhai and Irfan alias Abu Talib, both residents of Pakistan. Two AK rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, they said.
