Woman commits suicide by setting herself and two kids ablaze

Rajkot, Nov 19 (UNI) A 40-year-old married woman has committed suicide by allegedly setting herself and her two children afire in her house at Mahendranagar village of the district.

The woman, identified as Hinaben Davar, and her son, Nirav (4), succumbed to injuries yesterday while her daughter, Mansi (9), is battling for life in a hospital at nearby Morbi, police said today.

According to suicide note of Hinaben, she stated that her husband Shubhasbhai had illicit relations with his younger brother's wife Kaushalia. Therefore, they quarreled frequently over the issue. She also alleged that her husband often beat her over her protest of the extramarital relations. Fed up with this, she decided to end her life along with her two children.

A case of suicide was registered, they added.
