Assam: 3 suspected militants held from Sonitpur dist
Tezpur, Nov 19: Three suspected militants were arrested from northern Assam's Sonitpur district and as many bombs recovered from them, the army on Wednesday, Nov 19 informed. The bombs were recovered late on Tuesday, Nov 18 night from a house of one Md Nizamuddin in Rupkoria, under Tezpur police station by an Assam Rifles team, Lt Col Sidharth Singh, who led the operation, said.
Nine rounds of ammunition of 303 rifle were also recovered from the house.
Nizamuddin was arrested. His son, Md Jamaluddin, and another associate Amir Ali Hussain were also arrested from a neighbouring area.
The trio is suspected to be members of the insurgent outfit Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam (MULTA).
