Rs 77 lakh seized, six held
Bhopal, Nov 19 (UNI) Six people were today arrested and Rs 77.74 lakh seized from them in the state capital, police said.
''On a tip-off, police arrested the accused near a hotel in MP Nagar area. Two laptops, over dozen pan drives and six mobile phones were also seized,'' Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad said.
He said it was not clear during interrogation that from where the accused got the money. They were arrested on the basis of suspicion and the matter informed to the Income-Tax department.
The arrested include Bhopal-residents M Jaipal Reddy and D Channa Reddy, Hyderabad-based Malleshwar Rao, Shriniwas and B B Shhankarao, and Secundrabad's Murlidhar Reddy.
The accused claimed that they were employees of Hyderabad-based financial company, which provided loans. The notes seized from them had slips of banks from Godhra, Indore, Allahabad, Faridabad and Bhopal.
