Rajdeep Sardesai heads Editors Guild of India
New Delhi, Nov 19 (UNI) Chief of IBN Network Rajdeep Sardesai, has been unanimously elected as the President of Editors Guild of India to succeed Alok Mehta, of Nai Dunia.
Mr K S Sachidanand Murthy, Resident Editor of Malayala Manorama and the Week was re-elected as the Secretary General while Mr Rohit Bansal, Senior Editor and COO of India TV was elected the Treasurer in place of Mr Y C Halan, who would give up his office after handling the finances of the Guild for five terms.
Editors Guild of India is a body of Editors of newspapers and news agencies, news magazines and television news channels in the country. It takes up issues of freedom of the press, independence of editors of rising standards and ethics of journalism.
