Mysore: Officer suspended for allegedly assaulting lady advocate

Mysore, Nov 19: V V Puram Police Station Inspector Rachappaswamy, who allegedly assaulted a lady advocate has been kept under suspension, said Police Commissioner Dr S Parashivamurthy on Tuesday, Nov 18.

The advocates staged a protest at Ramaswamy Circle here on Tuesday, Nov 18 forming a human-chain demanding suspension of the officer.

Dr. Parashivamurthy, DCPs D' Souza and Jawaharlal met the agitators and promised action against the Inspector, who allegedly assaulted advocate M.V. Latha. The protestors, however, did not budge saying that they would withdraw the stir only after the suspension order was issued.

Chief Minister's Parliamentary Secretary and MLA S.A. Ramdas who arrived at the spot joined the protest and urged the Police Commissioner to issue suspension order. The Commissioner announced that the Inspector was suspended.
