Madurai: Police warns students against violence
Madurai, Nov 19: Do not indulge in violent acts or your life will be at stake, said Inspector General of Police (South Zone) Sanjeev Kumar here on Wednesday, Nov 19.
Speaking to reporters after reviewing the law and order situation at Usilampatti near here, he said that about 300 policemen had been deployed in various pockets in the district to ensure that public properties remained safe. “We appeal to the villagers to cooperate with the police in maintaining law and order".
“If the students were found guilty of indulging in any offences, the police will register cases as per law and they would be remanded to judicial custody. This will affect the career of students since getting into jobs will be difficult as the offences will reflect in police verification," he warned.
