HAFED making forays into Gujarat

Chandigarh, Nov 19 (UNI) The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) is making forays into western states with the first distributor appointed for Bhavnagar in Gujarat.

A HAFED spokesman said here today that first consignment of rice had been dispatched for Bhavnagar.

HAFED consumer products include Basmati Rice, Non-Basmati Rice, Kachchi Ghani Mustard Oil, Refined Soyabean Oil, Refined Cottonseed Oil, Branded Sugar, Desi Wheat, Organic Wheat, Desi Wheat Atta were quite popular in the markets of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bangalore, West Bengal, Orissa, Jammu and Kashmir, he added.

He said that with the marketing of HAFED products especially rice in Bhavnagar, it had taken a first step in covering the potential western market.

He said the sale of HAFED products had doubled in the first six months of this financial year in comparison with previous year.

He said that HAFED had recently started marketing its organic products like Organic Desi Wheat and Mustard Oil in Haryana and adjoining states.

He said that besides domestic market, HAFED Basmati Rice was being exported to Australia and it was attracting more export enquiries from abroad.
