Fire in GGH, no casulaties reported

Chennai, Nov 19 (UNI) A fire broke out in the neurosurgical ward of the Government General Hospital (GGH) in the city, triggering panic last night.

No one was injured in the fire that broke out in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the neurosurgery block.

Hospital staff contained the fire before the fire tenders arrived to extinguish the blaze.

The fire, suspected to have been emanated from the airconditioning unit of the ICU, was noticed around 2145 hrs.

According to Hospital authorities, patients were shifted from the ICU to other wards.
