Bomb threat in Infosys building turns out to be hoax
Mangalore, Nov 19 (UNI) A bomb threat at the Infosys building, which created panic for some time among the employees and the management, turned out to be hoax here today.
Police said an unidentified caller warned that a bomb had been planted in the building at 1230 hrs. The management immediately informed the police, who swung into action with a sniffer dog squad and bomb disposal squad. They carried out a search operation asking about 300 employees to leave the building.
However, the more than 90 minutes search was futile as no bomb was found.
Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar said security was tightened in the building after the call. Security would be tightened in all IT companies functioning in the city also.
