49 withdraw from fray in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Nov 19 (UNI) As mnay as 49 candidates withdrew from the fray in 35 constituencies for December 4 Assembly polls in Rajasthan.

Tourism Minister Devi Singh Bhati's daughther-in-law Poonam Kanwar who had filed as his covering candidate in Kolayat constituency in Bikaner district, withdrew her nomination. One more Independent also withdrew from the contest in Kolayat.

Seven Independents withdrew in Chomu assembly segment in Jaipur district alone.

Withdrawals can be made till 1500 Hrs tomorrow, an Election office spokesman said.

As many as 433 nominations of 383 candidates were rejected in different constituencies during scrutiny yesterday where as nominations of a total 2877 candidates in 200 constituencies were found valid.
