Water pavilion at IITF drawing big crowds

New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) The Ministry of Water Resources has set up a pavilion at the 28th India International Trade Fair (IITF) in Pragati Maidan here displaying the innovative ways of conserving water.

A Ministry release said the pavilion was attracting heavy crowd, especially students and children. A pantomine show of three to five minutes was run at an interval of every half-an-hour on the water conservation.

The pavilion also shows the entire course of river and economic activities along with broader aspects of the water cycle on the Earth.

Plasma screens were erected at suitable locations for showing documentaries on different activities of the Ministry and on judicious utilisation of water resources. The message of water conservation was being conveyed through a Mascot with the bowl filled with water in hand.

The salient features of the exhibit highlight the mission of the organisation; competency available with the organisation; and contribution made by the organisation in the development of water resources sector.

It also include general scenario of surface and ground water and the global position thereof; working models; instruments and consultancy and other services, being offered within the country and abroad.

Last year, the pavilion of the Ministry was adjudged as the 'Best Pavilion' and conferred Gold Medal by Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) in the category of Central Government pavilions.
