Bihar: 2 killed, 3 injured in land dispute

Munger, Nov 18: Two farmers were killed and three others injured when two rival groups clashed following a dispute over possession of a plot of land at Taufir Diara locality under Mufassil police station in the district late on Monday, Nov 17 night.

Police on Tuesday, Nov 18 said armed miscreants attacked the farmers when they were sowing wheat at Taufir Diara. Four farmers sustained injuries in the incident while one of them succumbed to his injuries when he was being rushed to a local hospital.

''Two other farmers were also kidnapped by the miscreants,'' police said, adding the body of another farmer was recovered from river Gandak in the area later.

The deceased were identified as Shivjatan Singh and Giro Singh, police said, adding the injured were undergoing treatment at a local private hospital.

Superintendent of Police Shalin said raids were being carried out to nab the assailants and rescue the abducted farmers.
