Two arrested with fake notes

Agartala, Nov 18 (UNI) In all two people were arrested withn fake notes of Rs 50 and 500 denominations from a tea stall near Secretariat yesterday.

Police today said acting on a tip-off sleuths of local police raided the spot and arrested Amit Debbarma (31), a resident of Autonomous District Council (ADC) and Amar Chand Choudhury (46) of South Agartala during transaction of the notes.

Police had information that fake notes (Rs 10 Lakh) were procured from Bangladesh and sold at half value by the criminals. All the bordering police stations were put on alert, said Additional SP (Urban) Bijoy Nag.

Mr Nag maintained that police spread it's net to recover rest of the fake notes and BSF were asked to keep a close vigil on the border Meanwhile, Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans have arrested an ATTF collaborator identified as Ratan Debbarma (18) of Kalayanpur in West Tripura from his house last night.
